About Us

Erena DiGonis, LCSW-R is a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Health Coach, and Certified Clinical Anxiety and Trauma Treatment Professional. She is also certified in Brainspotting and trained in EMDR. Erena has twenty-one years of practical and professional experience as an active clinician, teacher, and supervisor. She has worked in a variety of community, psychiatric, in-home, and private practice settings with hundreds of complex cases.

Erena is a sought-after writer, speaker, and consultant and has been featured in Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Psychology Today, Reader’s Digest, Women's Health, and MEL magazine. She has reviewed book proposals for the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and is an Advisory Board Member for the CPTSD Foundation. Erena serves as the Founder and Continuing Education Director of EngagedMinds, a national Continuing Education business providing training for Counselors, Social Workers, and Therapists.

Senior Faculty

Karen Sprinkel Ancelet, M.A., LMFT, SEP, CCTP, has a unique East-West approach to healing trauma which emerged over her seven years living in Asia. She has a very diverse background gained over her 30 years practicing psychotherapy. Her specialty is a combined trauma modality using EMDR, Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). She is also trained in many other techniques. Karen is a consultant, teacher, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and Continuing Education provider. She is licensed to practice therapy in California, Oregon, and Washington State.

Karen's time in Asia formed a critical part of who she is and how she views the world and healing today. This deeply integrated perspective has helped her work with individuals here in the States, as well as Thailand. Karen integrates the ancient wisdom of meditation and mindfulness into her clinical practice, as well as EMDR, Brainspotting, Flash, EFT, IFS and SE to facilitate the healing process of her clients. Karen wanted to share this wisdom with the world in her book, THE THRIVING SELF: A New Paradigm for Healing Trauma in the Mind, Body and Spirit and Moving Beyond It.

Kelly Daugherty, LCSW-R, FT, GC-C, BC-TMH, is a seasoned social worker with over two decades in the clinical field. She is a Fellow in Thanatology, specializing in death, dying, and bereavement. Anchored in Malta, NY, she owns Greater Life Grief Counseling, LCSW, and the Center for Informed Grief, LLC. Kelly co-owns Healing Strides, LLC, where emotional and physical well-being intersects in a unique 7-week program for grieving women.

Kelly works with clients to develop healthy coping skills, reduce symptoms, and achieve goals by utilizing cutting-edge proven techniques. She is trained in EMDR, Progressive Counting, Heart-Centered Hynotherapy, Complicated Grief Treatment, Trauma-Focused CBT, and more.

Kelly is also a contributing author of Holistic Mental Health and Brave Kids and lead author in the collaborative book The Grief Experience: Tools for Acceptance, Resilience and Connection. She is dedicated to revolutionizing grief support by offering tools and insights to individuals and professionals alike.

Stacey B. Shapiro, LCSW, has over 25 years of professional experience providing specialized mental health therapy tailored to diverse age groups and populations in her virtual private practice. Her expertise in modalities such as Brainspotting, Emotional Freedom Technique, Clinical Emotional Freedom Technique, and Comprehensive Energy Psychology allows her to address her clients unique needs in resolving individual and collective trauma.

She has a passion for education and sharing her expertise with other mental health professionals. She has experience as an Adjunct Professor at two universities, is a sought after international speaker and a consultant to colleagues, corporations, religious organizations, and others in her community.

Stacey is also an author and worked with her son to author the children's book, Jay's Horrible Day, which is about racism, discrimination, and resilience.

Refund/Cancellation Policy:

All refund requests will be honored if they are made within 24 hours prior to the course, less a $10 processing fee. There are no refunds for participants who 'no show' or for technical difficulties experienced on the student's end.

CE Questions:

ASWB ACE credit is NOT approved for self-study courses. ASWB ACE credit is only offered for Live, Online (synchronous distance learning) and In person trainings.

ASWB ACE credit is approved for the United States and Canada. *

The California Board of Behavioral Sciences will accept courses approved by AWB and NBCC, please see: https://www.bbs.ca.gov/licensees/cont_ed.html.

*New Jersey regulations state the following regarding acceptable sources of continuing education for Social Workers: "Attendance at programs or courses approved by boards that license social work practice in other states: one credit for each hour of attendance." Many State Boards accept ASWB ACE credit for Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Addiction Professionals. It is the participant's responsibility to check with their individual state board to verify continuing education requirements for their state.
